John Cusack comments on Brand Hauser

John Cusack recently talked about his two upcoming movies, Grace Is Gone and of course Brand Hauser. Both movies have something to do with the Iraq war. Since Cusack referred to the movie as Brand Hauser I guess that's going to be the title (not War Inc.) although that could probably change between now and when the movie comes out.

What John had to say about Hilary:

"Brand Hauser is about the people trying to exploit war - the war profiteers. That one's more like we're trying to take a fire hose and blow it right in their faces. Hilary plays a tacky pop star of Central Asia, and she's great. We had a great time, and she rocks in the film."

Gypsy Woman Song About Nicole Richie?

Just Jared is speculating that Hilary Duff's new song "Gypsy Woman" might be about Nicole Richie:

Hilary has one more song to record called “Gypsy Woman,” who is, as Hilary described about “someone else.” Nicole Richie, perhaps? (Nicole is dating Hilary’s ex Joel Madden from Good Charlotte.)

I usually try not to get caught up in gossip. I like to stick with facts, but this tidbit seemed intriguing to me. It isn't the first time that one of Hilary's songs has been linked to another celebrity. Her 2004 song "Haters" was widely speculated to be about Lindsay Lohan. Haters was one of the few songs on Hilary's previous albums that she had a writing credit on, so perhaps she likes to fight her celebrity battles in the form of song lyrics? Unfortunately we probably will never know for sure if Gypsy Woman is about Nicole Richie or not. Hilary never officially admitted to Haters being about Lohan, so I don't see her admitting anything about this song either.

Dignity CD to include a DVD?

direct-current is reporting that Hilary's new CD will also include a DVD:

Hilary Duff returns with a new studio album April 3 titled "Dignity" and a new single "With Love" launching mid-February to pop radio. The video will premiere on MTV 02/08. The "Dignity" album will be coming in a special CD/DVD combo pack and will include her recent single "Play With Fire."

"Hilary has co-written all the songs on “Dignity”, always aiming high and ultimately creating an album of depth and consequence. New Album - Dignity

Hilary Duff announced today that her new album will be titled "Dignity".
The album has a tentative release date of April 3, 2007.

I think the album title is pretty good. A few days ago I commented about the lack of creativity by Hilary and her management team when it comes to naming different projects, but "Dignity" is actually pretty creative and insightful. One of the things that Hilary Duff is known for is being a good role model and having a strong moral character that is rare for celebrities these days, and the name "Dignity" really represents what she stands for.

Hilary Duff Looks Great Without Makeup

According to x17online, who named Hilary Duff the best looking star when not wearing makeup. I have to agree with them. I always like seeing Hilary without makeup since she pulls off the natural look very well. In her younger days Hilary liked to wear a lot of makeup, but it seems as she gets older she is more comfortable wearing less and less, which is definitely a good thing.

Hilary to Appear on TRL the Week of February 5th

It was announced today on MTV's TRL that Hilary Duff is going to appear on the show the week of February 5th to premiere With Love. Hilary's appearance is going to be part of "Spankin New Music Week". We don't know the exact day Hilary will be on, but I will be sure to post that information when it is announced.

Hilary and Haylie Duff Nominated for Razzie Award

Hilary and Haylie Duff have been nominated for a Razzie Award. The annual awards that "honor" the worst movies and acting performances of the year. Hilary and Haylie shared a worst-actress nomination for "Material Girls." Joining the Duffs in the worst-actress category were Lindsay Lohan for "Just My Luck," Sharon Stone for "Basic Instinct 2." Kristanna Loken for "BloodRayne" and Jessica Simpson for "Employee of the Month."

While it is obviously not a happy moment to be nominated for a Razzie, this isn't the first time it has happened to Hilary Duff. In 2006 she was nominated for Worst Actress for Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and also for The Perfect Man. In 2005 she was nominated for Worst Actress for A Cinderella Story and also for Raise Your Voice.

While she has been nominated the past 3 years now, Hilary has never won a Razzie, and I don't see her winning one this year either. Sharon Stone seems like a lock to win the award for "Basic Instinct 2," a movie that only managed to make $5,971,336 at the domestic box office despite being the sequel to one of the most popular movies of all time.

Either way, the Razzies are pretty much pointless all the way around, and the fact that Hilary and Haylie are nominated means that they are still famous enough to be made fun of. It could be worse.

What Will the Name of Hilary Duff's New Album Be?

Hilary Duff's new album will be released in about 3 months. Assuming the release date doesn't get pushed back again, a name for the album will be announced soon. There is a rumor floating around that the name of the album will be "Confessions of Love". I don't know how accurate that rumor is, but somehow I don't think it's true.

I am going to predict that the album will be called "With Love".

Hilary and her management team have a history of not being creative with the names of various projects. The best example of this is "Most Wanted". The name "Most Wanted" was first used on a tour - then it was the name of an album, then it was the name of another tour. Since Hilary and her team seem to like using the same name over and over, I think "With Love" would be a good name for the upcoming album. Perfume, song, why not call the album that too?
