The newest trend in fashion appears to be the so-called "Skinny Jeans" that so many female celebrities are wearing today. This is appropriate because many of the girls are after all, skinny. The tight-legged jeans called " skinnies" by some are making a comeback after their popularity peaked during the 80's. Cameron Diaz, Avril Lavigne, Mischa Barton, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss and Jessica Simpson have been spotted wearing skinny jeans recently, and American Idol contestants Kellie Pickler, Lisa Tucker and Katharine McPhee have worn skinny jeans on the show. Even though a lot of celebrities are wearing them, I have to think that Hilary Duff was the trendsetter. She has been wearing skinny jeans almost exclusively since she became skinny, which has been about a year now. Hilary has always been on top of the fashion curve. She was wearing those crazy Ugg boots before anyone else, and I'm giving her full credit for the latest trend of skinny jeans.
Many designers and stores are jumping aboard the trend. Designers Nicolas Ghesquiere, Karl Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney have included skinny jeans in their collections for about two years now, but mainstream stores like Express, Bebe and Banana Republic are just now picking up the style.
