Hulk Hogan Mentions Hilary Duff in an Interview

In an interview in today's Boston Globe Hulk Hogan talked about his daughter's music career and compared her with some other pop stars, including Hilary Duff:

Q. Did you decide to do ''Hogan Knows Best" to give Brooke a launching pad for her singing career?

A. Exactly. We've been beating this music thing up for about four years. And when I saw Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff on the big screen, and then I saw Jessica and Ashlee Simpson with the small screen, I thought now might be the time to take a chance on doing the show, which would give my daughter an even playing field with all these other girls.

Hilary Performing at Rodeo Houston Tonight

It was about 1 year ago when Hilary Duff set a RodeoHouston attendance record when 72,843 people came to her March 6, 2005 performance at Reliant Stadium.

Hilary returns to her hometown tonight where she will perform once again for a huge crowd. When Hilary goes on tour, she usually plays to about 10,000 people every night, so the Rodeo crowd of 70,000 is about 7 times larger than her normal size.

I don't expect any new records this year (because Hilary is performing on a Thursday not a Sunday like last year), but if the attendance numbers are published I will be sure to post them.

Teddy Geiger is Getting Pretty Popular

Most of you know Teddy Geiger from Hilary's 2005 "Still Most Wanted Tour" where Teddy was the opening-opening act (with Tyler Hilton being the other one). Since that tour both opening acts have done some pretty impressive stuff. Hilton played Elvis in Walk The Line, which of course was one of the hottest movies of the year and was nominated for a bunch of Oscars. Geiger also has gone on to have some success. He was on the TV show "Love Monkey" (which got cancelled, but it's still pretty impressive), and his song "Confidence" has been getting some pretty serious airplay on the radio. And now Teddy will be starring in a national ad campaign for Levi's jeans. So with all of this success for Hilary's opening acts, I ask the question, did Hilary have anything to do with it? Probably not directly, but it shows how good Hilary's tour managers are to book this type of strong talent as opening acts.

Teddy Geiger's debut album Underage Thinking comes out on March 21, 2006.

Carl Lewis to be in Material Girls

This might be old news, but I just heard about it today. Olympic legend Carl Lewis, who at one point was easily considerd the world's greatest athlete, is now taking up acting and will be in Material Girls. He will be playing a 'People Magazine' Reporter according to imdb. Interesting. As far as when Material Girls is coming out, or when we will see a trailer? Still no official information but I'll keep you posted.

Here's an old picture of Carl Lewis with a bunch of Gold Medals.

Cheaper By The Dozen 2 DVD Release Dates

USA: May 23, 2006.
UK: April 3, 2006.

It's kind of odd that the UK would get the DVD release before the USA, I think that's the first time I have ever seen a US movie coming out in the UK before it came out in the USA.

2005 Radio Disney Music Awards

Radio Disney recently gave out their 2005 Music Awards, and as expected Hilary Duff was well represented. I don't listen to Radio Disney, but I hear that they play Hilary's songs ALL THE TIME, so it is no surprise that she won the following awards:

Best Female Artist - Hilary Duff
Best Song - Wake Up
Best Video That Rocks - Wake Up

Supergirl featured in Entertainment Weekly

HILARY DUFF, ''SUPERGIRL''
''Who can pick you up when you're feeling like you suck?'' asks the Duffster on her stupid-catchy new single. Shakespeare it's not, but it's hard to resist once those power chords start soaring.

Ryan Domball of Entertainment Weekly wrote this in his "
