Lots of Album and Single Information from MTV

- "Play With Fire" will be hitting radio in a few weeks.
- The song is described by MTV as "a dancey techno tune."
- "Play With Fire" and "Happy" are apparently the same song.
- The video for the song was directed by French duo Alex and Martin, who wanted the video to look "real and surreal," incorporating a lot of fire, explosions, distortions and reflections, "like a house of mirrors in an amusement park."
- The new album will be released on November 21, 2006.
- Songwriters Rhett Lawrence and Kara DioGuardi have been working on the album with Hilary.

John Tucker Must Die doing well at the Box Office - How will it affect Material Girls?

Teen comedy "John Tucker Must Die" is doing very well at the box office. It made almost $15 million in its first weekend coming in 3rd place. How will its success affect Material Girls? I think it's a good sign that there is a strong demand for teen comedies. It is clear that teens are looking for their own brand of entertainment, and movies like John Tucker Must Die and Material Girls can fill this demand. On the other hand, it might be a negative if John Tucker Must Die is still around when Material Girls opens, because it could be targeting the same audience. But by the time Material Girls opens, John Tucker will be in its 4th week, so it shouldn't be much of a threat.

Play With Fire Video News

The video for Hilary Duff's new song "Play With Fire" was shot in Toronto last week. According to Hilary's AOL blog, "Two great French directors Alex and Martin directed the video. They have mirrors breaking and fire everywhere. I am really happy and excited about how my music is evolving!" The new song will appear on Hilary's new album, which is scheduled to be released sometime in November.
