Hilary Duff Stalker Sentenced to Jail

The Associated Press is reporting that 18-year-old Maksim Myaskovskiy was sentenced to 117 days in jail and 5 years probation on Friday after pleading no contest to stalking Hilary Duff.

There was speculation that the tension caused by this stalker was ultimately to blame for the breakup between Hilary Duff and former boyfriend Joel Madden. With the stalker behind bars Hilary will be able to rest easy. And if he tries anything after he gets out of jail you can bet Hilary's security team will be all over it.

Rolling Stone Blurb - Hilary Duff's New Album

Rolling Stone already has something to say about Hilary Duff's new album. It was announced yesterday that Hilary will be co-writing every song on the album, but apparently they aren't impressed:

"Hilary Duff promises she’s co-written each song on her new album with Kara Dioguardi and that all tracks are therefore extremely personal. In other words there’s a song about loving Madden, one about hating him, another about the pain of tabloid scrutiny and a radio-friendly gem about being young and hot and just wanting to have fun before getting, like, old and stuff. Bleh."

Breaking News about Hilary's New Album - Release Date April 2007

After months of speculation about Hilary Duff's new upcoming album, there has finally been some official news from Hilary's official website with details about new CD:

"Hilary has been in the studio finishing up her album which you can look for this April. Hilary has been co-writing every song with Kara Dioguardi ( Gwen Stefani, Pussycat Dolls , Kelly Clarkson...) so each song is very personal to her. She has been working with some excitng producers and mixers such as Richard "Humpty" Vission (The Killers, Sting, Usher), Tim and Bob (Madonna, Destiny's Child, Will Smith) and 4 time Grammy winner, Manny Marroquin (John Mayer, Alicia Keys, kanye West. This album will be something that will make you want to put your dancing shoes on. You may have already heard the two songs "Play With Fire" and "With Love" so if that got ya movin', just wait and see what else is comin'!!!!"

Hilary Duff in Us Weekly - January 22, 2007

Hilary Duff was featured twice in this week's issue of Us Weekly. She is on the "Who Wore It Best" page where she is shown wearing the same dress as Sophia Bush and Catherine Zeta Jones. Hilary is also in a "Fashion Police" section of the magazine where she is shown alongside Ashley Tisdale and Andie MacDowell. As you can imagine, they make fun of Hilary's outfit in this section.

With Love Perfume Fragrance - Selling Well After All?

On Friday I reported that Hilary Duff's With Love Perfume Fragrance wasn't selling as well as expected. Well, it turns out that might not be true. According to a survey conducted by Rommel Dionisio of Wedbush Morgan Securities, With Love was the most popular Celebrity fragrance of the holiday season.

So now we have two different investment analysts, one who says that With Love wasn't selling well, and one who says that With Love did sell well. Who should we believe? Who knows. We'll just have to hope that someone at Elizabeth Arden can shed some light on the situation sometime down the road.

Hilary Duff's Career Grows at a Well-Measured Pace

Larry Rodgers of The Arizona Republic wrote an excellent article today about Justin Timberlake and how his career has progressed. The article also talks about other young celebrities and how they are able to make the transition from a child star to an adult.

Gary Marsh, chief of entertainment for Disney Channel talked about Hilary Duff in the article:

Marsh holds up Disney graduate Hilary Duff, 19, as a younger artist who is successfully negotiating the transition at a well-measured pace. "Hilary started young when she was (on Disney's Lizzie McGuire), but she's grown a little bit at a time, musically speaking," he says. "She started with very pop music. She's started to do a little more sophisticated music."
