More War Inc Expansion Info

There have been a few new developments about War, Inc. and where and when it will be expanding to in upcoming weeks.

The first and most reliable information comes from John Cusack via MySpace, who on a video said "We had a crazy big opening weekend" and that if the movie had a big second weeked then it would go to San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Austin then after that Washington.

After posting that video, John posted text that read:

.... ok, so i lied -- we will be expanding in TWO weekends (not one) on JUNE 13th to BOSTON, CHICAGO, SAN FRANCISCO, BERKELEY, SEATLLE and , which means yes, we still very much need your help in LA and NYC this weekend, but i'll probably also be bugging you for weeks to come if we hope to have any chance of getting the film out to all of you! please forgive me for my error - i'm suffering from insane work hours, serious sleep deprivation and a touch of deliriousness. thank you for your understanding... and continued support!

Also, MovieWeb reported the following:

The new John Cusack film War, Inc. will be expanding to more theaters in Los Angeles and New York on June 6 and it will expand to Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston and Austin on June 13 and Washington D.C. on June 20.

So, based on that info it looks like War, Inc will probably be playing on a few more screens in New York and Los Angeles tomorrow, June 6th. We'll know tomorrow exactly how many screens. And we also know that the movie will be expanding on June 13th, although there seems to be some discrepancy exactly which cities it will be coming to. Stay tuned.

War Inc 2nd Weekend Box Office Results

In its second weekend of release, War Inc made $19,970 at the box office, still playing on only 2 screens, for an average of $9,985 per screen.

So far after 10 days the movie has made $74,474.

Obviously since the movie is only playing at 2 theaters it is difficult to compare it to the wide releases, but the movie seems to be doing pretty well. If you go by per theater average, War Inc was #4 this weekend, behind Sex and the City, Savage Grace and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
