Hilary and Haylie Duff Nominated for Razzie Award

Hilary and Haylie Duff have been nominated for a Razzie Award. The annual awards that "honor" the worst movies and acting performances of the year. Hilary and Haylie shared a worst-actress nomination for "Material Girls." Joining the Duffs in the worst-actress category were Lindsay Lohan for "Just My Luck," Sharon Stone for "Basic Instinct 2." Kristanna Loken for "BloodRayne" and Jessica Simpson for "Employee of the Month."

While it is obviously not a happy moment to be nominated for a Razzie, this isn't the first time it has happened to Hilary Duff. In 2006 she was nominated for Worst Actress for Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and also for The Perfect Man. In 2005 she was nominated for Worst Actress for A Cinderella Story and also for Raise Your Voice.

While she has been nominated the past 3 years now, Hilary has never won a Razzie, and I don't see her winning one this year either. Sharon Stone seems like a lock to win the award for "Basic Instinct 2," a movie that only managed to make $5,971,336 at the domestic box office despite being the sequel to one of the most popular movies of all time.

Either way, the Razzies are pretty much pointless all the way around, and the fact that Hilary and Haylie are nominated means that they are still famous enough to be made fun of. It could be worse.
